Annual Song Contest


The Seventh Annual SDSG Song Contest is:

Monday, November 9, 1998

The DoubleTree Hotel
7450 Hazard Center Dr. Mission Valley
163 Fwy & Friars Road.

Registration begins promptly at 6:00 P.M. and Closes at 6:45 P.M call the hotline for more details... 619-225-2131. Last year over 3500.00 dollars in prizes were awarded to 20 prize winners. Total entries were 107 tapes, so the odds of taking home a prize were (and will be again this year) excellent!

Five criteria will be considered:

Form--Lyrics--Melody--Originality--and Presentation. All styles of music are eligible.

The rules are as follows:

1. Maximum 2 entries per contestant.

2. Each song must be the contestant's original work.

3. Songs must be submitted on individual
cassettes.

4. Five copies of the song lyrics must be submitted with each entry.

5. Tapes must be cued to within 5 seconds of music start.

6. Tapes & Lyric Sheets must bear contestant's Name, Address,& Phone #

7. Prize winning songs from prior SDSG Song Contests are not eligible.

8. SDSG Members: $10.00 per song entry fee, admission free

9. Non-Members: $10.00 per song entry fee, admission $10.00/ San Diego Songwriters Guild Memberships available at Registration.

Mail in entries will be accepted if they are received with appropriate entry fees on or before Monday, November 9, 1998.
Winnners will be notified by phone, so mail in entries should include a daytime and evening phone number. All tapes (but not the
music on the tapes of course!) submitted by mail become property of SDSG and will not be returned. All submissions should be
copyrighted by the author prior to entry.
